Why we exist
The city is theproduct.
Not the slogan. Not the rendering. The actual experience of living in your neighborhood — that is what we are building toward.
Philosophy
The resources already exist.
Most cities are sitting on a quiet inventory of skills, services, and people who want to help. The work is making them visible to the residents who need them.
Promise
Built to last past the headline.
Programs designed for repeatability — not one-off press moments. Every initiative is structured to keep working after we leave the room.
Guarantee
Where every dollar goes is important to us.
Time, resources, grants, and every dollar donated go specifically to the initiative they were intended to support.

Council, inplain language.
City council meetings shape your block. Few residents have a whole evening to watch one.
Since 2022, Chris Loos and community co-hosts have recapped every Monrovia City Council meeting — 60 episodes and counting, about half an hour each, on KGEM Television. The School District Recap does the same for Monrovia Unified board meetings: 26 episodes since 2023.

Frequently asked
Theshort answers.
- What is Community Reimagined?
- Community Reimagined is a Monrovia, California nonprofit that connects the resources, conversations, and events that make a city feel like a community. Founded by Chris Loos, it works from the premise that most cities are not broken but disconnected: the talent, services, and funding already exist and just need to be wired together. It runs free public events and civic programs for residents, families, and local leaders.
- What is House Party at the Park?
- House Party at the Park is Community Reimagined’s flagship event: a free outdoor gathering where local low- and no-cost service providers table in one place while DJs and musicians keep the energy high. Residents leave knowing which resources are available in their own backyard. It started in Monrovia in March 2024, and the third annual gathering filled Library Park on March 15, 2026.
- What is Painted Promises?
- Painted Promises is our annual three-day art fundraiser in Old Town Monrovia. The first edition raised more than $18,000, with $10,000 given to school communities affected by the Eaton Fire. The 2026 edition runs October 23–25 at 306 S. Myrtle Ave., and every dollar past cost funds the first year of The Creative Compound.
- What programs does Community Reimagined offer?
- Nine: The Creative Compound, House Party at the Park, Dream Chasers Career Day, City Council Recap, School District Recap, Make a Difference Day, Digital Dialogues, Civics Class with Cookies, and Hometown Cleanup. They range from resource fairs and youth career days to plain-language recaps of city council and school board meetings broadcast on KGEM TV.
- How can I get involved or volunteer?
- Fill out the interest form on our Get Involved page to volunteer, mentor, bring a skill, or partner as a business or foundation. You can also show up to any public event, such as House Party at the Park or a Hometown Cleanup.
- Is my donation tax-deductible?
- Yes. Community Reimagined is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 39-2628323. Donations are processed through Zeffy, which charges the nonprofit no platform fees. Tax-deductible amounts may be reduced by the fair-market value of any benefits received.
- Can you bring a program to my city?
- Yes — every program is designed to be repeatable, and we are open to new cities. Use the interest form and choose the partnership option, or email us directly.
